Meet our accomplished team of advisors, led by our esteemed Director and Founder. With diverse expertise and unwavering commitment, they guide our organization toward impactful solutions and meaningful progress.

ASHA CASTLEBERRY (FOUNDER)

I initiated the Celebrities Against Gun Violence, a project by the DINSN, given its status as a top national security concern in the United States. Statistics reveal that over 100,000 individuals sustain gunshot injuries annually. I am convinced that celebrities possess the power to deliver an impactful, world-class message that can contribute to the fight against gun violence, not just nationally, but globally.

SHARON (SHERE) CASTLEBERRY (DIRECTOR)

Sharon Castleberry is an accomplished professional with a 36-year career at IBM, a Fortune 500 company, where she gained extensive computer-related and career enrichment skills.

She earned her Project Management Professional (PMP) certification and retired as an Advisory Project Manager. Before launching her IBM career, she graduated from Hampton University with a BS in psychology.

Sharon is proud of her military and corrections family, which includes two Military Officers and a Senior Sergeant Corrections Officer. She also takes immense pride in being a loving grandmother to her beautiful granddaughter.

KEVIN C. MEGGETT (BOARD ADVISOR)

Kevin brings extensive experience in national security and public policy. His strategic insights and dedication are crucial to our mission of combating gun violence.

DONEE SMALLS (BOARD ADVISOR)

Donee’ Smalls is a dedicated professional with a robust background in military service and academic achievements. Serving for 13 years and 9 months in the United States Army, including leadership roles during deployments to Iraq and Kuwait, Donee’ was honored with the Meritorious Service Medal for her exceptional leadership skills. She retired from the Army with an Honorable Discharge in May 2018 and graduated Magna Cum Laude from Purdue University Global with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration in July 2018.

Continuing her academic pursuits, Donee’ earned her Master’s Degree in Business Administration with a focus on Management from Pace University in May 2023. Known for her ability to connect with others on a personal level, Donee’ considers changing life narratives and helping others overcome challenges as her strengths. Her passion for assisting fellow veterans in rewriting their own narratives aligns with her dedication to serving human wellbeing, especially evident during the current global pandemic. With a deep-seated desire to contribute to social work and enhance human wellbeing, Donee’ is committed to continuing her journey of making a positive impact on the lives of those around her.
